How Restomatix compares
There are broadly three ways to handle restaurant bookings in Italy today: commission-based marketplaces, other flat-fee tools, and Restomatix. They look similar on the surface but behave very differently when you look at the monthly bill and what you actually control.
| Restomatix | Commission platforms | Other flat-fee platforms | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Flat monthly fee | Subscription + commission per cover | Flat monthly fee |
| Commission per cover | €0 | Tiered by service and day (variable) | €0 (typically) |
| Per-network cover fee | €0 | Sometimes applies | Varies |
| Reservations from your own site | €0 (no fee) | Often counted toward commission | Usually free |
| Unlimited bookings | Yes | Technically yes, but each adds cost | Yes |
| Google Reserve included | Yes | Sometimes | Rarely |
| Active local SEO service | Yes (SEO GBP Plus addon) | No | No |
| Physical Google review cards | Yes (included) | No | No |
| Customer data ownership | 100% yours | Shared / platform-controlled | Yours |
| iPad and onsite setup | Included | Add-on or extra cost | Varies |
| Contract type | Monthly or annual | Annual with auto-renewal | Varies |
| Italy-based support | Yes (Italian + English) | Centralised, slower | Often English only |
| Cost predictability | Fixed every month | Depends on bookings | Fixed every month |
The short version: commission models charge you more the better you do. Flat-fee models charge you the same every month, which makes planning straightforward. Restomatix adds active SEO on top, so you are not only paying less — you are also being found by more guests.
No hidden fees. No surprises.
We have one of the simplest pricing models in the Italian restaurant tech market. To make sure there is no ambiguity, here is exactly what you will and will not be charged for:
What is always included in your monthly fee
- Unlimited bookings across every connected channel.
- Reservations from your own website (zero per-cover fee).
- Google Reserve, social channels, and walk-in entries from your iPad.
- Onboarding and setup support.
- Software updates and new features as they are released.
- Italian and English-speaking support.
What is never charged
- No commission on bookings.
- No per-cover fees.
- No charges for cancellations or no-shows.
- No setup fees for the core booking system.
- No charge for the iPad.
- No exit fees if you decide to leave.
What is clearly priced separately
- SEO GBP Plus addon (€499 / month) or the Complete bundle (€599 / month).
- Optional à la carte addons (IVR, Meta Button, Events Portal, custom No-Show Policy).
- VAT, where applicable.
Why owners switch — and how the numbers usually work
For most independent restaurants in Italy, the maths is straightforward. A typical commission model layers a monthly subscription on top of a percentage cut of estimated revenue plus a per-cover fee that changes depending on service and day. Once you cross roughly 40 to 50 covers per month through that channel, the commission model becomes more expensive than a fixed monthly fee — and it keeps getting more expensive the more you grow.
With Restomatix, the cost stays the same whether you take 50 covers or 500. The growth is yours, not the platform’s.

Pricing FAQ
Are there really no commissions, ever?
Correct. No matter how many bookings you take — from Google Reserve, your website, your social channels, or your own host — your monthly Restomatix fee stays the same. We do not take a cut of your revenue, and we do not charge per cover.
How long is the contract, and can I leave?
You can pay monthly or annually. Annual billing saves €600 across all plans. There are no exit fees: if you decide Restomatix is not right for your restaurant, you can stop at the end of your billing period.
I am currently on a commission-based platform. How does switching work?
Switching is the part most owners worry about and the part we have done most often. We handle the setup, help you transfer your guest data, configure Google Reserve, and keep your existing bookings flowing through the transition. In most cases you can be live within a few days, with no downtime for incoming reservations.
When does Restomatix become cheaper than a commission model?
It depends on your average cover value and how many bookings come through the platform, but for most independent restaurants the break-even point falls somewhere around 40 to 50 bookings a month. Past that, every additional booking you take through Restomatix saves you money compared to a commission model — and unlike commissions, the savings compound the busier you get.
Do I need the SEO GBP Plus addon, or is the base plan enough?
The base plans give you a complete commission-free booking system. SEO GBP Plus is for owners who also want active work done on their Google presence — being found by tourists and locals searching on Google and Maps, ranking higher in the local pack, and getting more direct bookings as a result. If your restaurant already gets strong organic Google traffic, the base plan may be enough. If you are competing in a busy area or relying on tourist discovery, the SEO addon (or the Complete bundle) is where the real growth tends to come from.
What happens to my customer data?
It is yours. Your guest list, contact details, booking history, and notes all live in your CRM and stay with you, even if you decide to stop using Restomatix. We do not market to your customers, sell their data, or restrict your access to it.
Do prices include VAT?
All prices on this page are quoted excluding VAT. Italian VAT is added where applicable on your invoice.
Is support available in English?
Yes. Our team supports restaurants in both Italian and English, which is especially useful for international and expat owners running restaurants in Italy. You will not be routed through an offshore call centre — your support contact is in Italy and familiar with how Italian restaurants actually work.
